Ravens' Loss to the Chiefs Highlights the Obvious: The Harbaugh Era is Over

The Baltimore Ravens suffered a devastating loss on September 28th, 2025, in a game that quickly turned into an embarrassing outing largely attributed to questionable coaching decisions. Despite entering the matchup with high hopes, the team failed to execute critical plays and seemed outmatched in key moments, leaving fans and analysts frustrated. The Chiefs capitalized on Baltimore’s mistakes, pulling away as the game progressed, while the Ravens struggled to find any rhythm on either side of the ball.

Adding to the team’s woes were a staggering number of injuries sustained during the contest, which further weakened an already fragile roster. Several key players were forced to leave the field, placing additional pressure on the backups and disrupting their game plans. This combination of poor coaching calls and mounting injuries has left the Ravens with plenty to address as they look to regroup and salvage their season moving forward.

Offense

While the 1st drive of the game for the offense had shown promising results, scoring a touchdown, it was all downhill from there. Lamar Jackson had one of the best/worst games of his career, with 147 yards through the air, a touchdown, and an interception. He eventually exited the game early due to a hamstring injury, which leaves the next few weeks in question regarding whether he will play. The offense line struggled yet again, with LT Ronnie Stanley leaving the game due to an ankle injury and Right Guard Daniel Faalale looking lost YET AGAIN. No one in the run game had over 100 yards, and Derrick Henry was only given eight attempts for the run. Overall, this offensive game plan was truly a head scratcher, one where we need to see some changes soon to salvage this season.

Defense

To put it bluntly, our defense is on the ground. Ranking dead last in every category, there needs to be a change fast. And the injuries sustained on Sunday didn't do any good either. Corners Nate Wiggins, Marlon Humphrey, and Chidobe Owuzie are out, MLB Roquan Smith is out, and Travis Jones is questionable. Not to mention Madubuike is out for the season and potentially sustained a career-ending neck injury back against the Browns in Week 2. I'm getting PTSD from the injury-cursed 2021 season. Allowing the Chiefs to score 37 points against us is unacceptable. It made them look like the scary team they had been back when Tyreek Hill was running laps in the red. There's no good side to this; the defense needs to figure it out fast, or else we can call this season before it even gets to the bye week.

My Verdict

Sounding as professional as possible with this, heads need to start rolling. The coaching staff needs to have an entire reset done because this is not it. Harbaugh needs to be gone, Orr needs to be gone, and Monken needs to be gone. Just a complete reset of the board in terms of coaching because if you can't utilize a great team like this, what is the point in you coaching it? However, it also raises a conspiracy theory: what if the players are intentionally doing this because they are sick and tired of the coaching as well? They can't say anything to the media at the expense of their jobs, so why not just play horribly to show everyone the horrible coaching staff they got? I have no proof of this, but time will tell. Harbaugh's time in Baltimore is over; that is a fact. This Texans game this upcoming Sunday will most likely be another nail in the coffin if the Ravens lose. If they are able to scrape out a win despite the number of players injured, I would be surprised, but we will see.
