Knicks Week 8 Recap

The Knicks went 2-1 this week, with their stars continuing to play good team basketball. They are in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 16-12 record.

MONDAY DECEMBER 18TH, KNICKS VS LAKERS

The Knicks defeated the Lakers 114-109 behind Julius Randle’s 27 points and 14 rebounds. Jalen Brunson also chipped in 29 points in the win. The team shared the ball to the tune of accumulating 21 assists in the game. They held the Lakers to 42 percent from the field and 31 percent from three. The Knicks outscored the Lakers 33-22 in the third period for the Lakers to make it close down the stretch only to prevail still.

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 20TH, KNICKS VS NETS

The Knicks got a second straight win, 121-102, against hometown rival the Brooklyn Nets. Julius Randle scored 26 points, and Donte DiVincenzo added 23 points of his own. They accumulated 24 assists in this game, which speaks to their ball movement being the key to victories. The game was never really in doubt once the Knicks went up big in the third quarter and were able to hold on to the lead and take the victory.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 23RD, BUCKS VS KNICKS

The Knicks lost 130-111 to the Bucks despite 36 points from Brunson on nearly 58 percent shooting from the floor. Randle added another 26 points and eight boards. This game was the complete opposite of the last game, as the Knicks faced an uphill climb the entire game. They only had 17 assists in this game, which is down from their prior games.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Knicks will play the Bucks again at noon on Christmas for the third time this season. This will be a challenge for the Knicks to beat them for the first time this year.
